Makkah is a city that Allah has specifically blessed to be beneficial to Muslims in their religion- Al Islam. By this, Allah mentions the city in many chapters and verses of Al Qur’an, which this article will examine.
Makkah: in Surah Al Fatih, verse 24, Allah says, “And it is he who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them with the area of Makkah.”
Bakkah: in Surah Al Imran, verse 96, Allah says, “Indeed, the first House of Worship established for mankind was at Bakkah blessed and guidance for the worlds.”
Umm Al Qura: in Surah Al Shura verse 7, Allah says, “And thus we have revealed to you an Arabic Quran that you may warn the Mother of the Cities (Makkah) and those around it.”
Al Balad, (the City), in Surah Ibraheem verse 35, Allah says, “And mention Oh Muhammad when Abraham said, My Lord, make this city (Makkah) secure”
Al Balad/ Al-Ameen (the Secure City) Surah Al Teen verse 3, Allah says, “And by this secure city Makkah”
Al Baldah (the City), Surah Al Naml verse 91, Allah says, Oh Muhammad: “I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this City who made it sacred and to who belong all things.”
