The Amir, (Head) Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Alhaji, Barrister Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, have called on Nigerian Muslims to retain the progressive human values taught by Ramadhan.

In his Eidul Fitr 1443 AH//2022 message to Nigerian Muslims, the Amir, on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Nigeria, felicitates with the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and the world and had, this to say ‘‘the just concluded Ramadan fasting has offered us the unique opportunity of engaging in moral reformation, spiritual rebirth and regeneration of our social values and ethos. Indeed, Like a medical clinic, we have been discharged from the Ramadan clinic after a month-long admission for both therapeutic cleansing of our bodies and the treatment of our various moral and spiritual diseases and vices of hypocrisy, unrighteousness, corruption, dishonesty, fraud, selfishness, cruelty, lying and wickedness, among others are all temporarily cured.

However, having completed our annual Ramadan training, it is crucial for us to continue engaging in those various CORE VALUES of worship and virtues that had characterized our lives during Ramadan as we pass through the rest eleven months ahead and beyond. The, Amir concluded, ‘Let us decide to retain permanently the progressive human values taught by Ramadhan because a temporary change of attitude is insufficient to attain peace with the Creator.

In addition, he enjoins Nigerians as part of the build-up towards 2023 elections to pray that God choose leaders whom Allah will support fully to enable Nigeria gets out of the current economic, security, civil and physical challenges that besets the country. Alatoye says: its necessary to appeal to all aspirants, delegates and other stakeholders to ensure justice, equity and fairness in the choice of candidates for various elective positions through a smooth and rancor free party primaries with the fear of Allah and absolute patriotism in their choices. And importantly, Nigerians should be hopeful that our dear country Nigeria will rise again.
