Mahmoud was from a village named al-Shabanat in the Arab country’s Sharqia Governorate
His father, Mohammad, says Mahmoud learned the entire Quran by heart at an early age.
As Mahmoud had a beautiful voice, he started learning Quran recitation with prominent masters, Mohammad added.
He noted that his son’s main activity was reciting the Quran and teaching the Holy Book to children and teenagers in al-Shabanat and nearby villages. The young Qari died of heart attack.
