In recognition of his selfless service to his fatherland T his Nigeria newspaper has conferred the Gold Award in Public Service on the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB).
The award was conferred on the Registrar on 2nd December 2021 at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja. The newspaper said Prof.Oloyede was singled out for the award because of his high standard of governance and prudence in the management of human and material resources. The organisers also stated that given his numerous innovations which have Repositioned the Board for greater efficiency and productivity, Prof.Oloyede deserved to be honoured to serve as an encouragement to others. He challenged other public office holders to emulate Prof. Oloyede’s sterling qualities.
In his brief remarks, the Registrar thanked This Nigeria newspaper for the honour done to him and promised not to rest on his laurels. He charged the newspaper to continue in its path of objective reportage in addition to showcasing good leadership qualities wherever they are manifested to encourage people vested with the public trust to do even more. on his part, he said the award would only serve to spur him to do more to serve Nigeria and the education sector in general. He also tasked This Nigeria newspaper saying that as a stakeholder in the Nigerian project, the media house should assist the Board to raise public awareness about its activities citing the planned cashless registration regime, the introduction of Physical and Health Education and Computer Science as new subjects to be tested in the 2022 UTME as well as the menace of illegal admissions and fake certificates.
