NAWAIR –UD-DEEN SOCIETY (NUDS)of Nigeria and overseas through the National Women’s wing, under the Chairperson of Hajiya, Muibat Aribidesi, shall on the 30th May 2021, in Lagos celebrates 20 Nigerian Women; for their impactful contributions to the growth of Islam in Nigeria as part of her national symposium programmes. The theme is: Mothers As A Pivot For Societal Transformation And Panacea For Insecurity.

 Those that are to be celebrated; are Hajiya Lateefah Okunnu, Hajya Sopeyin, Hajiya Toyin Mariam Dare, Justice Ajoke Adepoju, Hajiya Sharefaah Andu, Hajiya Sherifat Suleiman, Hajiya Amudalat Lawal, Hajia Raolat Leshi, Hajia Muslimat Oladejo, Hajia Sherifat Atanda and others. The guest speakersare Imam Ahmad AbdurRahman of Ansar-Ud-Deen Islamic Society and Dr Khadijat Olaniyan of Lagos State University.

According to the chairperson,  ‘’celebrating these women is to showcase them as they are role models and pride of Islam who have done much in touching humanity with their styles of dawah and contributions for which we are proud of them. The event is also to remind mothers of their role and responsibilities in home building, transformation of the society and country at large. 

Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria wasfounded in 1939 as a practical solution to the early Christian missionary’s obnoxious discrimination against the Muslims and Muslim children who were either refused admission into missionary schools or forcibly converted. Ever since, it has been able to promote, foster, encourage and sustain the religion of Islam, promote the educational, moral, social and cultural advancement of the Muslim Community. 

In addition, NUDS has proved to be a strong partner with the government in grooming responsible men and women for the country through provision of qualitative education for Muslim children. Today thousands, of her products are working across human endeavors for the growth of the country.

Hajiya Muibat Aribidesi, the current National Chairperson for the women’s wing, before now had served as the Treasurer and Vice-chairperson of the Abuja branch. She also served as the Chairperson of the Northern Zone of Nigeria. She is a Computer Scientist by profession, a Fellow of Nigeria Computer Society(FNCS), a Certified Information System Auditor(CISA), a member of Computer Professionals of Nigeria (CPN) and member, Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA).

Her vision is to see the Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria more vibrant, visible, impactful and having more young people coming into the society to take over the reins of affairs. Also, she hopes to work harder to populate the women wing with dynamic women who can take the group to greater heights. She stepped into the shoes of the National Chairperson in 2019.
