Seven Muslims killed as suspected IPOB members opened fire on Imo residents.In continuation of the unbridled persecutions of the Ibo Muslims in the Eastern States of Nigeria, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have reportedly killed seven Muslims in the Orogwe community, Owerri West Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State and several people got injured during the shooting on Monday, 1st August 2022.Since the formation of MASSOB in 1999 and the emergence of its terrorist affiliates IPOB/ESN thousands of Muslim residents in the states, including Northern Muslims, have been gruesomely killed unpublished. Investigation reveals that fifty per cent of such cold-blooded murder was carried out between years 1999 to 2001 during Sharia riots reprisal attacks in the South East and parts of South-South.
An eyewitness of the Ogbor hill waterside killings in Aba in 2001, when Northern Muslims like goats, were slaughtered, confirms that the Monday gruesome killing of seven Muslims and injuring hosts of others at Orogwe town by IPOB/ESN terrorists is a continuation of the persecutions of Muslims. According to the resident, the ugly incident happened days after a youth got arrested by members of the local security outfit, Ebubeagu.The resident says that now in Imo State, any time there is a gun duel encounter between IPOB/ESN and Law enforcement agents, innocent Muslims are killed depending on the casualties on the side of IPOB/ESN. He calls for urgent countermeasures against the ethno religious cleansing by IPOB/ ESN. That has been going on for decades and must be exposed now to the world.He had this to say: It is high time the world is alerted to these insidious evil acts. The United Nations Assembly and the United States Parliament (where the Christians Association of Nigeria CAN rush to tell lies), should do the needful and save Ibo Muslims from these senseless killings. The world Ummah, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA) Muslim Rights Concerns, MURIC and other stakeholders must act now because Muslims in the Eastern region are living in constant fear’’. In the last killings, the Imo state Police command spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, said seven persons died in the attack when the Gunmen stormed the community and opened fire on residents. The police disclosed that the divisional Police officer swiftly mobilised his men with the support of a detachment of tactical teams to the scene. But on arrival, the hoodlums had escaped almost immediately, snatching a blue-coloured Toyota Sienna SUV vehicle as a getaway car. While the tactical team speedily went on their trail, the DPO and his men rushed the injured to Federal Medical Centre, where they are currently receiving treatment and evacuated the corpses to the mortuary’’.Another eye witness explains the incident thus: the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ogbaku Divisional Police Headquarters, Owerri, got a distress call that armed bandits suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN), came in a black Lexus Jeep and three motorcycles carrying two persons each, shooting sporadically at the occupants in a building at Orogwe, Owerri West LGA, Imo state.Meanwhile, CSP Abattam said the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Mohammed A. Barde, had ordered a discreet investigation into the incident, promising that the Command would go all out in ensuring that the perpetrators were arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
