In a press release in Abuja by Malam Mousa Ubandawaki, the Deputy Director, Information and Publications for the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON, the Chairman/ CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alh Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, on behalf of the management and staff of the Commission, has paid glowing tributes to the personality of His Eminence Justice Abdul Jabbar Bola Ajibola, who died early hours of today, 18th Ramadan, 1444AH, in Abeokuta, Ogun State at the age of 89.

In the release, the chairman says: “On behalf of the Management and Staff of the Commission, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the family of the former Minister of Justice and Founder of Crescent University, Abeokuta, on the passing away of their patriarch, Prince Abdul Jabar Bola Ajibola. His death is not a loss to the family alone but to the entire people of Ogun state, the Muslim Ummah and Nigeria. As an elder statesman, Jurist and trailblazer, his indelible mark will be difficult to fill.. The late judge of the International Court of Justice, ICJ, Hague, Netherlands, is not only a teacher but also a mentor and source of inspiration to many. His death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but I take solace that those we love do not go away but walk beside us. His contribution to the propagation of Islam and knowledge will be forever remembered and missed. Words indeed cannot fully express my regrets. May his Soul find peace and comfort in Aljanat”.
His eminence, the Justice Prince Bola Abdul-Jabbar Adesumbo Ajibola, CFR, SAN, KBE (KNIGHT OF THE MOST EXCELLENT ORDER OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE), was a peaceful eloquent international jurist. A man of sterling qualities and colours, his taste is unique, and he radiates Islam in his dealings with the people and his projects. He is the founder/ Proprietor of the Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun state and the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA), an Islamic organisation for the growth of Islam and Philanthropies’. He once served as the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, for Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Chairman of Board Trustees the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria MUSWEN, the umbrella body of Muslims in the southwest states of Nigeria.
