His Excellency, Lieutenant General, Ambassador Dr Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), CFR, former Chief of Army Staff and the immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to the Benin Republic will chair on 12th November 2023 the prestigious OurNigeria, Magazine awards for 2023, Abuja, Nigeria. The OurNigeria Magazine is a foremost Nigerian Nation-Building Magazine. The awards will be at the famous Abuja International Conference Centre.

The awards shall be in the presence of the crème de la crème of the Nigerian society and members of the diplomatic community in a ceremony that confers on eminent Nigerians the highest and most prestigious honours from the Magazine. The awards are for organizations and individuals who show uncommon patriotism and dedication to Project Nigeria. In addition, they are to encourage them to do more for the collective interest of the good people of Nigeria. The theme for this year’s award is providing a Podium for the Unsung Heroes.

The board and Management of OurNigeria Magazine have deemed it fit for His Excellency, Dr Tukur Yusuf Buratai CFR, to chair the glamorous occasion in recognition of his heroism, patriotism, sacrifices, contributions to nation-building and humanitarian pedigrees both in active services and retirement. 

General Buratai, CFR, (Rtd) has a collection of over 32 titles across Nigeria, which is a manifestation of his various humanitarian services, sterling roles in counter-terrorism and insurgency in the North-east, dignified contributions to Nation-building, peace, security and infrastructural developmental projects while in and out of Service across many states in Nigeria. Four of such traditional titles include the Jagunmolu of Saki Kingdom (the Benevolent Warrior) conferred on him by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Doctor) Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, Okere of Saki Kingdom, the Sadaukin Jajere by Alhaji Mai Hamza Buba Ibn Isah Mashio, the Emir of Jajere Yobe state, the BAAKORE of Akure Kingdom, in the Ondo State capital, southwest Nigeria, Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Cfr, the Odundun II and the latest the BETARA of Biu Emirate, by His Royal Highness Emir of Biu Alhaji Dr Mustafa Umar Mustafa II CON. 

Rt. Hon.Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour, and the Emir of Keffi, Nasarawa State, HRH Alhaji Shehu Yamusa III, is the Royal father of the Day.
