Alhaji Barrister Alatoye Abdulazeez, the Amir (National Head) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, has sent a congratulatory message on behalf of himself and the entire membership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, to the president-elect, His Excellency, Alhaji (Senator) Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory at the just concluded Nigeria presidential elections.

In a press conference on State of the Nation held at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Headquarters, Ojokoro, Lagos, the Amir, while reading his congratulatory message to the pressmen, present pray that may Allah the Almighty continue to guide him and other leaders and strengthen them with the sound health and political will necessary for realizing good governance, development, prosperity, peace and happiness of the citizens and the nation.
He urges the president-elect and other newly elected officials to see their positions AS A TRUST for which they are ANSWERABLE and ACCOUNTABLE to God and should fear the day they will account for the entrusted positions. He says: “It is wrong for elected or appointed people to use power to convert the land, positions, money, or any other resources entrusted to them for personal use. They will be building their hell rather than paradise with that. The reward is in the correct application of the resources without taking a dime that does not belong to them. Making a law to support the tort of diversion of resources will surely not avail anyone of such right in the sight of Allah as his conscience through which Allah communicates would have told him that such action is evil and wrongful. It is pure stealing and breach of trust of any kind, whether overtly or covertly, is entirely incompatible with the teachings of Islam”.
In the same vein, he congratulates His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN, GCFR), the Vice-President-elect, His Excellency Alhaji Kashim Shetima, all the new and returned elected Governors, National and State Assemblies, members the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), all stakeholders and Nigerians for the success of the 2023 elections. He also prayed May Allah be the guide and helper of all the elected and may He not make it a source of spiritual, moral and physical destruction for them.
The Amir, however, called out on all losers who could not let go to approach the relevant grievance resolution institutions, and under no circumstances should they result to self-help or violence but lawful means to seek redress. The theme of the press briefing was: TO GOD AND PEOPLE: DELIVER ON YOUR DUTIES OF TRUST AND COMPETENCIES TO THE SATISFACTION OF ALLAH THE ALMIGHTY GOD”.
